Jim D'Addario: Yeah, I always loved bridges. Maybe because they have a lot of wire on them and I like stringed instruments, but also I just think from an engineering point of view, form and function is so perfect in a bridge.

By coincidence, my neighbor, he gave me this piece of cable, which is actually one of the original vertical suspender wires on the Brooklyn Bridge. He replaced them and he had an extra one and he gave it to me, so it's something I keep in my office.

That same wire that was used on the Brooklyn Bridge is what we re-engineered for a New York XL, to make a string that really does endure in LA. This bridge has been up almost 150 years, and it's still there.
