The following tools and supplies will help you make your guitar/bass building project fun and rewarding. Most are common, but you may have to borrow/buy a few specialized items.
Tools
- #4895 Fret Hammer
- #3799 Straight edge; 24" long
- #0677 Masking/binding tape
- #4894 Rule, 6" with 16th, 32nd, and 64th increments
- #3316 SAE Hex keys
- #3317 Metric Hex keys
- #0097 Drill bit set/index (1/16" - 1/2" in 1/32" or 1/64" increments)
- Good quality Phillips and blade type screwdrivers. You will need several sizes.
- Soldering iron/pencil (25-45 watt)
- Drill (3/8" chuck, variable speed/reversible is desirable)
- Tape measure
- Center-punch or awl
- #1605 Wire cutters/stripper
Supplies
- Sharp pencil
- Sharpie or permanent marker
- Notepad
- Small diameter rosin-core solder
- Electrician's tape
