All the heat you need
For accurate bending you need a heating blanket and steel bending straps to help focus the steam and transfer heat smoothly. This Heating Blanket has the right size, shape, and thickness for bending acoustic guitar sides. With even heat from end to end, your sides will conform to the shape of your bending forms without surprises or cold spots. This is crucial when you've got the heat and steam going strong!
It has the flexibility to make sure every curve of your body shape is transferred seamlessly to the side. The blanket is long and wide enough to bend sizes from 000 to J-45 and beyond.
For safety, heating blankets must always be plugged into a temperature controller. Our Heating Blanket has a standard two prong AC plug pre-installed, ready to seamlessly plug into our Temperature Controller.
The Heating Blanket can operate up to 400 degrees, more than you will ever need for side bending. It's perfectly suited for the 250-300 degree range that is recommended for most sides.
Warning: Heating Blankets can rise to over 400 degrees in minutes, please DO NOT plug in WITHOUT proper temperature control.
Support your bend from end to end
The ultra thin but strong 32 gauge stainless steel straps are extremely flexible, making it easy to conform to any curve or cutaway. They also help conduct the heat evenly across the length of the side and won't rust when working with steam. The smooth surface also helps the pressure bars glide over the side for effortless bending.
These straps are slightly longer than a typical guitar side, giving you the flexibility to build anything from 000 to J-45 and beyond. They're also longer than our Heating Blanket to make your "sandwich" of straps, blanket, and side easier to load and maneuver.

The Heating Blanket is a 120-volt, 1200 watt AC electrical appliance, 60Hz. It has a U.S. standard Type A plug with two flat parallel prongs, ungrounded.
