Jerame Edwards: Hi. I'm Jerame Edwards, creator of the Fractal Fret Press. I'm going to show you now how to affix your Fractal Fret press to the StewMac Jaws2. First, we'll remove the caul adapter from the Jaws2. We're going to take the included torque fork, gently spread it open, and insert it over the stem of the Fractal Fret Press all the way to the base. The torque fork allows you to rotate the Fractal Fret Press and keep it in place whenever you're adjusting the height. We're going to get a 1.5 millimeter allen wrench, and we're going to loosen the set screw at the top of the stem without removing it, just enough so that we can insert it into the shank of the Jaws2. We want to make sure that we keep this brass washer installed. It's a bearing washer. It will go against the top edge of the shank.

Take the torque fork and insert it around the spine of this clamp here. We're going to tighten the set screw up until it stops and back it off maybe an eighth of a turn so that this can move freely without falling out. Lastly, we want to install a rubber band around the tines of the fork to kind of help keep this against the spine, and you're ready to go. The Fractal Fret Press original will install into the StewMac Jaws2 without any modifications to either one of the tools. But if you want to use the original caul adapter that comes with the Jaws2, we also offer the Fractal Fret Press Blade, which installs like any other caul into the caul adapter. To set up your Jaws2 to be used with the Fractal Fret Press Blade, we're going to install the torque fork onto the original caul adapter.

We're going to remove the nylon set screw making way for the torque fork to be installed. We're going to gently spread the tines open and place it over the body of the call adapter here all the way down. We're going to reinstall the nylon set screw. We're going to take the tines and put them around the spine of the clamp. We're going to insert the caul adapter, tightening up the nylon set screw, and then backing it off a little bit. And then we're going to install the rubber band around the tines of the torque fork. You're going to insert the Fractal Fret Press blade into the Jaws2 caul adapter, ensuring that it's centered in the adapter, and then tighten down the set screw. Now with the Fractal Fret Press blade installed into the Jaws2, alongside with the torque fork, you're able to start installing frets at any position.
