Known for its beauty, strength, and tone, Flamed Hard Maple can really do it all. Our sets range from mild flame, similar to the classic LP's to more modern "10" tops you find on guitars from high end production and boutique shops.

"Rock" or "Hard" Maple is an excellent wood both for its workability and tonal properties. Tonally, it's bright and bold, and adds a quick response and clarity to your build. It works well with hand tools or power tools, as well as CNC. Take care on highly figured pieces to limit chip out, using razor-sharp cutters and light passes will prevent these issues.

When finishing—the options are limitless. Like most maples, it finishes easily and looks beautiful under any stain or translucent color. From classic sunbursts to modern gradient finishes, it's easy to accentuate the figure for a truly three-dimensional finish.
