Cuban Mahogany (Swietenia mahagoni) is the original mahogany, the species that helped define what builders have prized about this remarkable wood for centuries. Today, finding instrument-grade Cuban Mahogany in guitar-sized sets is exceptionally difficult. Finding it with beautiful fiddleback flame like this is almost unheard of.

If you love Honduran Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla), Cuban Mahogany will feel immediately familiar. It has the same quick attack, clarity, balance, and wonderfully even response across the tonal spectrum, but with a little more of everything that makes great mahogany special.

In the shop, it's equally impressive. Cuban Mahogany has a fine, tight texture and works beautifully with hand and power tools. It cuts and carves like a dream, sands exceptionally well, and finishes to a deep, lustrous glow.

And then there's the figure
Cuban Mahogany this nice would be special even if it were perfectly plain. But these sets feature beautiful fiddleback curl that adds a deep, three-dimensional shimmer.
