Walnut Back and Side Set for Ukulele
Build a stunning Black Walnut uke!
We've found a small stash of beautiful exotic woods that are perfect for ukuleles. Walnut (Juglans nigra) will make a beautiful looking uke with a strong, warm tone.
Black Walnut is generally medium brown to dark chocolate in color, often with hints of gray or purple. Its straight, even grain allows it to be worked very easily by hand or by machine and bends particularly easy.
Many describe Black Walnut's tone as falling naturally between rosewood and mahogany. Walnut's low-end response is strong and closer to that of a rosewood, while its mids and highs tend to be more organic and warm.
Bookmatched set includes two quartersawn halves and matched sides. When joined, they are large enough for a soprano, concert, or tenor ukulele. Sides are unprofiled (rectangular) and unbent. Kiln-dried.
