Indian Rosewood Back + Side Set for Dreadnought Guitar

Get the beautiful looks and timeless tone of this incredible wood. Indian Rosewood (Dalbergia latifolia) bends and works easily and has a tone that is wide-ranging and articulate, with excellent bass response and strong overtones.

About Indian Rosewood, Dalbergia latifolia
One of the first great alternatives to Brazilian Rosewood, Indian Rosewood is versatile, powerful, and one of the most popular tonewoods of the past 40 years. It's visually stunning as well, with hues of chocolate brown commonly found alongside hints of gold, red and purple. Our back and side sets are carefully matched for color and grain. We've photographed a representative sample to show the natural variation of our stock.

It works equally well by hand or by machine and it bends quite comfortably. Although it's slightly less dense than Brazilian Rosewood, it is generally more dimensionally stable and significantly less prone to cracking. It's an open pore wood, and requires grain filler to level the grain.
