I had been using Pro-Arte D'Addario classical guitar strings, but I decided to take a chance with these GHS strings. I wasn't disappointed! These strings sound very good, and they feel great! They're definitely something I purchase again.

I bought these ahead for a couple of instruments I have in construction. The quality of the strings from StewMac is important. I can't see wasting time and funds on junk and I can trust StewMac for good parts, etc.

I have been building a hybrid 3-string instrument that is a shimisen/guitar/CBG. It is my first stringed instrument built from scratch with no power tools as I just received a Dremel rotary driver to replace the Dremel Lite whose rechargeable battery pack just died fifteen years ago and apparently isn't manufactured anymore. I bought a cigar box about fifteen years ago with excellent resonance from the local cigar store for 3 bucks. The neck came from a futon frame that somebody threw away years ago and I saved some of the mahogany bits. The design is as close as I can get to a shimisen (Japanese three-string) with materials at hand. Since I didn't want to build a bridge I ordered a deluxe ukulele bridge which can take nylon strings, hence the strings can be attached in the uku friction style at the bridge. It will take time to craft the headstock so I have yet to test any string arrangement. I'm sure these strings are fine for my purposes. Tools! Parts! Build what you love, love what you play. StewMac gets all the money that didn't go to the Dremel and the nine-dollar rasp from Home Depot which is surprisingly effective in sculpting the neck, which is unfretted. I forgot to order an ukulele nut-blank but that's a bit down the line. StewMac, oh yes.

These strings have great tone and really make the notes sustain on my classical. I would highly recommend them based on value and they sound clear, notes resonate and they look good.
