Prucha Kershner Banjo Tailpiece
Patented nearly a century ago, the Kershner is still one of the most popular adjustable-tension tailpieces for banjo.
Length, weight and machined brass construction enhance note sustain and contribute to clear, bright tone. Front-edge notches make string changing easy.
Nickel-plated brass. Also available in a polished unplated model, suitable for engraving or matching a vintage look on new builds or restorations. Attachment bolt and hex nut included. Works for 5-string or 4-string banjos.
Installation note: Like many traditional tailpiece designs, the Kershner is held in place by string tension and its attachment bolt. The tailpiece tension screw adjusts string pressure over the bridge for tonal variations. Two screws near the bottom of the tailpiece adjust side-to-side alignment of the strings when needed.
A tailpiece bracket or endbolt is needed for installation.
