Waverly Banjo Tuning Pegs

About This Item

Inspired by the unique pegs used on prewar Gibson Florentine, Bella Voce and Granada banjos, and Martin OM guitars in the '20s and '30s.

Waverly's distinctive machined brass "2-Band" offset gear case and grained ivoroid knob will bring a handsome vintage touch to your banjo.

The best of vintage design and modern craftsmanship.
Smoother than the originals, thanks to 4:1 planetary gears, sealed lubrication, low-friction bushings, internal tension spring, leather knob washer and adjustable knob tension.

The brass string post has the original taper for proper string angle over the nut. The threaded hex bushing has a tapered washer to help protect the peghead finish.

For 7/16" to 3/4" (11.11mm x 19.05mm) peghead thickness. 3/8"-dia. pegholes required.

"Waverlys are smooth, accurate, and dependable."
—Sammy Shelor, The Lonesome River Band

"Very efficient and smooth banjo pegs. I highly recommend them."
—Tony Trischka

amazingly smooth

I decided to upgrade an old tenor banjo whose original tuners were long gone. These are the smoothest tuners I've ever felt. I now can understand how some virtuosos re-tune in the middle of a song.

Waverly replaces Washburn OEM

I has one of the tuners on my Washburn B-11 strop out so that it would not hold. I ordered the Waverlys form Stew-Mac on a Sunday, and they arrived in rural OK on Thursday. I installed them that night, tuned up the banjo and had a good practice session.

Prompt service + Good quality product = One satisfied customer.

Waverly tuners are the top of the line. So is StewMac. I place my order for a set of Waverly banjo tuning machines and they shipped that very day. And they were delivered a couple of days later. All good. A wonderful and easy five star ????? transaction. Highly recommended.

Waverly Tuners

I am a professional musician. I play banjo 3 finger style. I recently added a open back banjo to our venue/claw hammer. I perchased a new Recording King open back and the tuners were terrible. I installed the Waverly tuners and it will be all the open back banjo I will ever need. Can I get the 5th string tuner to match ???

Response from StewMac

Hi Marco,

Thank you for you nice review. You can absolutely buy a matching 5th string peg. The Waverly Planetary 5th String Peg is item #3452, and can be found in the related items listed above.
