Bakelite Pickguard for Tele & Esquire
The real deal. Retro appeal! Fender used Bakelite® on the Tele® and Esquire® guitars from 1950 to '54.
Go all out with your retrofit—use genuine Bakelite on your old (or new) Tele!0.084" (2.13mm) thick with 5 mounting holes. Single ply, squared edge, and unshielded—just like the originals. Pickguard screws sold separately.
Collector trivia: Bakelite was developed in 1905 by Leo Baekeland, who had set out to find an alternative to shellac. In 1993 it was designated a National Historic Chemical Landmark by the American Chemical Society in recognition of its significance as the world's first synthetic plastic.
