Golden Age Roller Bridge

About This Item

The only roller bridge that matches the 12" radius of the Nashville Tune-O-Matic. Low-friction brass roller saddles let the strings move freely and return to accurate pitch.

We designed this bridge to work with Bigsby vibratos, in place of the Nashville Tune-o-matic. This is the only roller bridge that matches the 12" radius of the Nashville, so you maintain the string action you're used to. We gave it a low profile to keep the strings clear of the bridge body too, eliminating a frequent source of vibrato problems.

Thumbwheel height-adjustment studs and knurled bushings are included.

About bridge & tailpiece measurements

Bridge and Tailpiece reference image

String spread is the distance between the centers of the outer strings on a bridge or tailpiece.

Saddle radius determines the arc formed by all the individual saddle heights, and is similar to the measurement of a fretboard.

Stud/post spacing is the distance between the centers of the mounting posts of a bridge or 'stop' tailpiece.

Roller bridge/Gibson SG

I purchased this bridge for a mid nineties Gibson SG. At first I installed the adjustment posts that came with the bridge, but when I got stings on it the action at the 12th feet was super high and unplayable even though I had them screwed down until the bottomed out. I put the original adjustment posts back on with the new bridge and still bottomed them out, but this time the action was higher than with the factory bridge, but playable. I was able to intonate and tune it and it plays pretty good and holds its tune. I think I might be able to improve it with a neck adjustment but haven’t tried that yet. If you are looking for a quick drop in bridge that works without a lot of modification I would not recommend this bridge for a mid nineties Gibson SG.

It didn't fit my Washburn HB-35

The knurled bushings for the posts are to small and the wheeled studs that hold up the bridge won't fit. I think Washburn used the older Nashville sized posts on this 25 year old guitar. I'm having to return it. I'd added a Goldo tremolo bar and thought I should have a roller bridge, but it's holding tune just fine with the original tune-o-matic wedges. It otherwise looks well built and is a fine product. I'd read two reviews where people bought this for their Washburn guitars and had little to no trouble. Remove your bridge to see whether you have small enough bushings before ordering.

If you are considering this bridge for your Gretsch 5420T you will have to do some thinking on how you want to mod it. Gretsch bridge pins are fixed and their diameter is a different spec than the ones that come on this. They also go all the way through the bridge as you adjust it to your height- you will have to either drill this one out or figure out a way to use the enclosed bigger dia. pins. I didn't want to drill out my guitar body, carve a new base, or drill out the golden age and use washers to make it work with the existing pins- I saw no other way. cutting down the Gretsch pins maybe, but your bridge will be rocking back and forth on them---- looks like a fine enough quality bridge if you can make it work though.

Whoever said to get the esp wrench better come her and show me how it even can work with this bridge! The bridge is fine, and the wrench will come in handy I bet , but it doesnt work on this bridge.

Excellent product, drop in on supplied adjusting posts. Intonation is now a breeze, nice break over angle with low action set. Advise purchasing the ESP spanner tool for height adjustment though as adjusting wheels are hard to access.

Swapped out adjusting posts with posts provided. Adjusting intonation is now a breeze. Suggest getting the ESP spinner wrench for action height adjustment. Guitar sounds and stays in tune much better.
