Getting hard to find

Don't see tenor banjo's much any more. Restored a 1920's Chicago era generic banjo, used a 5/8th's but sanded it down a touch for personal preference. Wonder if I will ever see another one on my home repair bench. Let me plug Dan Earlwine's head tension tip, lay a pencil across the top at the bridge and tighten until a quarter will just slide under under it, works just fine and a lot easier than guessing at tap tones. Espeacially with my 70 year old ears.

Fixed a tenor banjo lying around, bought a couple just in case I needed to shave anything down. Price was right and they work just fine.

My recent order of several parts for my father's antique banjo came as it should have. All the parts were excellent, and fit well. I always know when dealing with Stewart-Mcdonald there will be no problems. The consultant I ordered through was knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. Something that can always be expected from Stew-Max. J.S.
