An archtop's carved top is built to flex. Anchoring string tension directly to the belly of the guitar restricts that movement, choking its natural volume and tone. A traditional trapeze tailpiece solves this by transferring the load to the tailblock, keeping the hardware completely off the soundboard.

This vintage-style trapeze features a suspended crossbar riding on two tapered legs, channeling the tension straight down to the endblock so the top can move freely. It's a straightforward, practical tailpiece that's perfect for reviving an older archtop or finally getting that project jazz box back in playing condition.
