Allen Truss Rod Wrenches

About This Item

Allen ball end for easier access! These heavy-duty wrenches feature a special 1-1/2" long (3.81cm) Allen ball end, permanently set in a sturdy anti-twist steel shank.

Each wrench can also be used at an angle—great for getting into a recessed truss rod access cavity. 12-1/2" (31.75cm) overall length keeps your knuckles safely away from the peghead.

#6210 wrench is bent so it won't bump the tuners on a 6-in-line peghead.

Our veteran guitar technicians developed these high quality steel truss rod wrenches for the repair shop. The length, comfortable rubberized handles, durability, and variety of sizes let you perform truss rod adjustments more efficiently.

These tools are available in our money-saving Truss Rod Wrench Set.

These long straight wrenches are ideal for headstock accessed Allen socket truss-rods.
They get a lot of use in my workshop.

Works perfect

Recieved earlier than expected. Works perfect on my LTD EC256. The longer shaft made it easy to use with strings still on. Well made

The wrench is the right size. Very precise fit. The handle is a very good length.

Disappointing

This is the third Allen wrench I've bought from Stewmac and wish I hadn't. (The other two were tapered 1/8 for rescuing Fender trussrods, I haven't needed mine but gave one to a friend who had to file the end down so it could fit snug/properly). I've just used this one (which also feels loose in Fender truss rods) and it slipped LOOSENING the truss rod resulting in this. Truss is fine on this particular guitar, I've never had problems adjusting it and adjusted it straight after with a hardware store wrench. Upsetting, Stewmac stuff is usually good but I would suggest looking elsewhere for Allen wrenches.

Not a fan of the ball ends

By

I like having the longer shaft and handle but would be much better if you offered a set with standard allen wrench ends. Ball ends wear to easily and slip, compounding problems. With such a long shaft it doesn't seem to really benefit from the ball end anyway. Seems an odd design choice.

Just what I needed!

Needed a wrench that would fit straight-on to the trussrod - alot easier to use than a right-angled allen wrench.

Seems fine but doesn't reach the truss rod on my Jeff Beck Strat

I would love this wrench if it was long enough to properly do its job on my strat.

Response from StewMac

Hi David,
Thank you for sharing your honest feedback with us. We're very sorry the 1/8" bent Allen Truss Rod Wrench wasn't the right fit for your Stratocaster.

A joy to use!

Great reach, great grip handle and much more torque due to the length makes adjustment smoother and easier. Don't miss using Allen L keys.
