Adjustable Toggle Switch Wrench

About This Item

Here's a special wrench that's ideal for the round knurled mounting nuts on Gibson® pickup selector switches.

Your pliers WILL mar the nut — this is a much safer tool, with adjustable chuck-style jaws for a good non-slip grip. Thanks to the deep socket, you won't even have to remove the switch knob. Made of sturdy steel with durable plastic handle.

You won’t ever look at knurled retaining rings the same way. This has to be one of the most incredible tools I own.

Work like a charm!

I had a sticky toggle switch on a beautiful old archtop jazzbox. The last thing I wanted to do was to bring a pair of pliers to the switch retaining ring and risk damaging the guitar. This did the job with surgical precision. Thanks StewMac for stocking this fine tool. Well worth the price.

Great tool

Very nice wrench and works very well on closely spaced controls. A little lubrication on the collet makes it much easier to use. Great for working on my old electronics.

Works perfectly as advertised

I bought this to tighten the deepwell retainer nut on a switchcraft long 3 way toggle... My PRS 245 doesn't have or need one of the creme washers, so I had to be very careful to not scratch the finish... This tool can tighten a knurled knob without slipping... I then used this to tighten the retainer nut on my Hamer - same result... I will always keep this tool handy - glad I bought it...

Didn’t work as well as reviewed

The cheapo ESP spanner wrench does a better job! This still slipped and marred the ring nut.

I like having nice tools and am willing to pay good money for them, but this ain’t it. Don’t waste your money on this.

Hard to Get Used To

I found it a little more difficult to use than I expected. It's fairly heavy and you turn the chuck counter-clockwise with one hand while holding the handle with the other until it's tight against the nut. Meanwhile, you are worrying about marring the Treble/Rhythm ring or worse yet your guitar's finish. I couldn't tell by feel when it was tight enough to properly grip the nut. If it's not tight enough and you twist the handle, you mar the nut. I would recommend setting the size as close as possible with a spare nut (if you have one) before using the tool on your instrument. I've also heard that the ESP Multi-Spanner tool is a good tool for this application. It may have its own drawbacks, but at least you can see what you're doing

The right tool for the job.

I love this tool because down through the years I've had many guitars that needed attention given to the toggle switch. They are notoriously loose on new guitars. And because this tool is adjustable you can adjust it so that it' sits just off the painted surface. Allowing you to remove or tighten you are toggle switch. Thank you Stew Mac. I love this tool.
