Swivel Handle Clamp

About This Item

Get better control over your clamping pressure with a right-angle handle. It's easier to make ever-so-slight adjustments, or really crank it down!

Comfort grip handle pivots to the upright position if things get too crowded. Heavy-duty steel construction. Great for repairing peghead breaks, laminating necks, gluing fingerboards, plus a million uses around the shop.

"I've had to shorten the wood handles on several of my Jorgensen and Bessey F-clamps, for clearance on my drill press and milling machine tables. You won't have to do that with these swivel-handle clamps. You can get several clamps as close together as you need, and still tighten them. That's the biggest reason I like them." —Dan Erlewine

Maximum opening    Throat depth
#3704 Small   7" (177.80mm) 3-1/4" (82.55mm)
#3705 Large   10" (254.00mm) 4-3/4" (120.65mm)

TIP: Did you know you can clamp too tightly? Torque these puppies too much and you'll squeeze all the glue right out. So use your new-found power with care!

Clamping a guitar neck really tight (without damage)

Working on a 1938 Gibson lap steel, Dan Erlewine needs to clamp the neck way more tightly than usual. He comes up with a special jig by modifying a Rock-n-Roller neck rest.

The right tool for the job.

Tried three different clamps before trying this one. Frustrated I contacted customer service. Jenaye was able to locate a tech who sent a picture of the swivel clamp. Ordered it, got it and finished my repair. Thank you Jenaye. The repair involved replacing a bridge on a concert ukulele.

Cool clamp! Large is better for bridge work

I ordered one for acoustic bridge work and misread the size. I got the small and should have gotten the large. Totally my mistake. But the clamp itself is a cool design and works exactly as described.

Small is perfect for the bridge for the soprano uke kit

Swivel is nice to have I guess but I feel like if you need that much force you're doing something wrong (or starving the joint of glue). The low profile is what's really great about it.

These really are fine clamps.Lightweight and very strong. The swivel handle definitely comes in useful.
One the things I really like too is how the top part has a strong grip and stays put when positioned.

Sometimes the handles are closed each other. In that case, I do appreciate the swivel handle, you know.

Perfect clamp for applying the bridge on a concert ukulele.

Several years ago I purchased some small clamps designed specifically for applying the bridge on a guitar. Even the smallest size (5”) ended up being about an inch too long for an ukulele. I had to add a small piece of dowel to the bottom of this clamp but it works. I down graded it one notch because of it’s tremendous “heft.”

Perfect for bridge replacement

Or anything else. I waited months for these and they did not disappoint. They worked perfectly, along with the Stewmac bridge gluing caul to replace a lifting bridge on a '70's Epiphone Cabalero. The Thomson Belly Reducer took care of the lift. I put a 1 degree shim in the neck, a new rosewood bridge and a bone saddle an this little baby sounds better than new. Great products, worked perfectly.

Love these clamps!

From lutherie to general woodworking, I find myself reaching for these constantly. They slide freely, and are incredibly sensitive. I can crank down with just two fingers, thanks to the rubberized grips, and if I tilt the handle just a bit, I have all the leverage I could ever want.

I just came back to buy more, and find they're not available for at least a month. What gives, StewMac?
