Mini Clamps for Linings - 10 Pack

About This Item

Small and strong, perfect for gluing kerfed linings.

StewMac’s Production Manager, Todd Sams, swears by these clamps for building his Sams Guitars. "They're stronger than other spring clamps, and way better than clothespins," he says.

The jaws fit over angled kerfed linings perfectly, and fit most curved/reverse linings, too. The strong grip keeps its tension and won't twist like cheaper versions.

We recommend one clamp every 1 to 2 inches, so it takes 50 to 60 clamps to glue the top or back linings on a 000 or Dreadnought.

  • 2" long, 1/2" wide (50.8mm x 12.7mm)
  • Jaws open to 11/16" (17.46mm)
  • Package of 10 clamps

Have you tried similar clamps and the protective rubber tip eventually slides off? Our clamps have a hole in the metal tip so the dipped covering flows through and the tip stays on!

Stronger than they look—if the metal part of the clamp contacts wood, it could leave a light indent. Generally this doesn't matter, since this wood is removed while sanding and when you rout for binding. Put binding tape where the metal meets the wood to avoid this altogether.

leaves deep marks in wood

if you do buy these clamps, put something under them to protect the wood, or they will leave dents. Granted, most of it will be routed away for binding, but, not all of it, so, I have the choice of using really tall binding, or sanding quite a bit of material (too much, honestly) to fix these. The rubber pads don't even contact the guitar when applied as shown in the product photo.

So... if you buy them, BE MINDFUL of this.

Sincerely,
Mythic Guitar Company

I had gotten some of these several years back and have pretty much worn them out. But when I went to 'restock' I could not find them anywhere...sure glad StewMac had them...good quality and consistent spring tension.

Perfect pressure, easy to use. I will be buying another 50 soon. You can never have too many clamps. These are working great for my ukulele builds.
Thank you Stew MAC for another great product!

More spring pressure than other mini clamps - even little red ones that appear to be the same.

I bought these to assemble two ukulele kits rather using clothes pins and rubber bands. They worked like a charm. They were well worth the purchase price which I thought to be very reasonable. They were delivered within two days of the purchase...WOW.

These small but powerful clamps fit into tight spaces and apply good pressure. Better than anything else I've tried.

I've been learning violin, but don't have a mute. I wanted to practice at 3AM, and thought to myself, "Wait a minute..."

Ha! Who would've thought? I actually was using these to hold a brass screw the other day. The rubber coated jaws on these didn't dent the soft brass, but were strong enough to hold it tight...and then I could clamp the body of the kerfing clamp in my Nut and Saddle vise. Worked like a charm.

Very strong clamps with some unexpected uses outside of the one intended (which they are also very good at). Great to have on hand.
