Inlay Scribe

I bought this assuming it might work a bit easier than my Scalpel I use to trace my inlay outline. The issue I have with this tool is it tears the wood fibers & is not as easy to control,(just my opinion) I will find something else too use this for.

size matters

the points are sharp, but pay close attention to the size. It is too small to comfortably and firmly hold in my hand

Looks like the tool I need to make a precise line around a table I'm making. I have to keep it four inches from the side of the table. Oblong kitchen table and the ends are about and eighth inward than the sides. I think I will half to do it by hand. Rather use a dermal tool to make the line but shaky from 21 yrs in Navy.

Get 2 of them

Why get 2 of them? Because you will fall in love with this little booger. So much (as I did) that I am paranoid I will lose it ... RIGHT WHEN I NEED IT. I'm ordering a backup. Do you think I like this little guy? You betcha. Particularly great for marking the VERY center of screw holes to be pre-drilled. -Michael-

This is the most useful tool in my shop

I got this for tracing inlays but I soon found myself using this little bad boy CONSTANTLY for anything that needed prying, poking, ect. I love this thing and cant imagine my shop without it

Short

Comes sharp and useful. But honestly to expensive. I use a drill sharpened nail end on a six inch spinning sander and get thinner sharper points, then insert it into a pin drill head. Get good balance and length to get into tight areas. Use this to hold the peace or move it now. Still kool if your without tools or resources.
