What’s a neck without side dots?

The white is perfect for any unbound neck with a rosewood or ebony fretboard. Binding? Use the black unless you have tortoise shell for an LP style guitar.

just what the doctor ordered.

I had some bad holes for the side dots. Drill bit drifted and elongated the holes. Was making side dots by filling perfect holes with colored epoxy. This stuff is a way better result. look much better. a little ebony dust in the CA around the marker and its perfectly round and invisible. Good stuff !

Perfect. Just the job. However, I wouldn’t use this on a small guitar or Uke, I’d go for the smaller diameter.

I was looking for this material and bingo right there on Stew-Mac. A quick and easy way to install side dots with a finger drill, a light tap in, a dab of crazy glue, and a trimming.

Plastic Side Dot Material

Actually used these for building pool cues. Using the white material to inlay into black rings. While it is advertised at 3/32, the material is perfectly sized to fit into a hole drilled with a 3/32 bit.

Handy for marking frets

By

Verified Buyer

Works well for marking frets that some guitar builders don't mark. I did an Art & Lutherie acoustic that needed side dot markers at the 3rd, 9th and 15 the fret. Also a Guild Bluesbird electric that needed side dot markers at the 19th & 21st frets. They come in 1/16" & 3/32", but if you have an imported guitar, it will probably have metric markers that are between these 2 sizes. You can always change out the existing fret markers to match the new ones you installed.
