Vintage Stranded Core Push-back Wire - 50 feet

About This Item

The right wire for Fender and vintage-style circuitry.

Premium Gavitt cloth-covered hookup wire that does not require stripping — simply push it back to reveal the wire. This wire is stranded, making it more flexible and ideal for wiring tight guitar cavities.

Also available in 12-inch pieces.

Diameter: 0.070" (1.78mm)
Length: 50 feet (15.24m)

22 AWG unshielded single conductor wire is tinned and stranded, with a white celanese wrap and waxed braided cotton outer insulation. The cloth insulation simply pushes back to expose the center conductor wire.

The real deal

Built a Tweed Deluxe clone from a kit. Not the StewMac kit. It came with wire that had a braided yellow cover over white plastic insulation. Was very hard to wire using kit supplied wire but I didn’t know better
This wire was needed when one of the pots died and I replaced all 3 with CTS amp pots from StewMac. Could not believe how easy it was to use. Wish I had it for original build

I just can't say enough

I bought these push back wires to finish the wiring on a 1953 guild project. The wire was perfect of course. But so much of the work and products that I put into this project were done using stuff from Stewmac. Everything from the wire, to the Golden Age pups, to the clear Gloss Nitrocellulose lacquer and the polishing papers. Stewmac is my GOTO resource for all things lutherie. Do yourself a favor and get a membership it will pay for itself on the tiny things you need. Like a $2.50 treble bleed circuit. Free shipping...yeah!

This wire is easy to use. No tinning and simply push back. Solid, thick wire that is easy to secure ready for soldering. I use it on all wiring jobs, new and old.
