Low Grade Switch

By

I have now bought two of these switches in six months and had nothing but problems when installing in an Epi 335 Dot. A lug cracked on each during soldering, resulting in shorting. Also, the internal contact leaves are exposed and prone to bending during installation in a semi-hollow body guitar. Gave up trying to readjust the contact angles of the leaves. Cheap feel to the mechanism once installed. Looking for a better quality switch.

Good switch!

I replaced the switch in a Gretsch Streamliner with a short Switchcraft switch and it fit and works perfectly! Much better than the one that came from the factory. Highly recommended.

1982 Burny RLC

A direct replacement for my Burny Custom. The short version has more threads then the taller version that came in a different kit from stewmac. No biggie as I'm sure I will eventually use it on something else.

Doing a lot of "service" work on some of my instruments these days. This piece replaced a worn out version of the same on my '75 Gibson ES 34 TD.

Bought this to replace the original toggle switch in an Epiphone Les Paul the one that was in it when I bought it had issues, neck pickup selection would come and go, the new switchcraft switch is awesome, so clean and no static, so glad Stew Mac had what I needed, great quality

Better than the original

The switch on my Gibson Les Paul Faded (2004) was giving me trouble. I tried working with Gibson to get a replacement switch, but their customer service was about as useful as the broken switch in my guitar.

A few days later the switch that I ordered from Stew-Mac arrived. It looked far more substantial than the OEM switch that came with my Gibson. It seems like they were cutting corners on their guitars even back in 2004. The Switchcraft switch went in with little difficulty and from the outside, you cant tell that there is any difference at all. In fact, the only real difference is that I no longer need to spray electric parts cleaner into the switch before I play anymore*)

*this was an actual solution offered by Gibson way back in 2005 when I bought the guitar and the problem was originally discovered.
