Pure Tone Multi-Contact 1/4" Output Jack

About This Item

Loose and noisy output jacks are a thing of the past!

Standard output jacks all have a similar design: a single contact for positive and ground. With extended use, these contacts can become loose and degrade signal and tone. The Pure Tone Multi-Contact Output Jacks offer 2 contact points for positive and ground to keep cables secure and your signal constant over time.

"Required for habitual cord stompers like me."
— Erick Coleman, guitar repairman and StewMac tech advisor

The patented Pure Tone jack contains dual tension grounds and dual positive tips for optimal signal and lowest possible noise. 100% greater surface area at all contact points creates a more stable connection; as a result, high and low frequencies are greatly improved creating a much more balanced sound while eliminating frequency spikes. No more noise crackle caused by pressure grounds!

The Pure Tone jack allows for increased current handling at 500 volts for high current applications. Tensioned design locks cable securely in place while the increased metal mass carries more signal.

Connection feels nice and snug

With connections on all four sides of the pin, I'm confident that I won't run into the old jiggly connection breakup thing that happens on old switchcraft jacks. Great for my solid body electrics. On the other hand, if you have an archtop, I would think twice. It takes a bit more force, and I would be worried that it'd be easier to crack the thinner wood of a hollow body. I've seen that happen with switchcraft jacks, so I imagine this would happen more frequently with this jack. That warning aside, I put them in all my solid bodies.

If you buy and entry level or even mid-level guitar chances are your guitar has a cheap output jack! This multi-contact output jack is a very cheap and easy upgrade to your guitar to guarantee that all that sweet tone you're putting out makes it to your amp!

All Output Jacks Should be Like This!

By

All output jacks should be like this! There is no excuse for buying a new high dollar guitar and dealing with a loose jack plug. It is so nice and a perfect design for a tight plug in. I had issues with the size of the threaded output is slightly larger and may need a little more clearance inside guitar cavity. I am changing every guitar I own to these jacks, and already some for my friends!

These dual spring contact jacks are just superior to any single contact models. Really positive solid connections. They'll last much longer under heavy use for sure.

Best Output Jack, Period!!

One of the cheapest yet most important upgrades for your guitar. Multi contact, sturdy and puts and end to snap, crackle and pop due to bad jacks. Simple upgrade and you can feel and hear the difference using these. Highly recommend.

Solid, excellent quality jack

I just finished putting one of these in my Stratocaster. Super solid, super nice. My only observation that isn't super is that you need TWO nuts to attach the jack to the Strat... but these jacks only have ONE nut. So... they just don't work where you need a nut on the backside and the frontside of a plate, unless you want a long standout (looks dumb to me) because you just suck the jack up tight against the inside of the mounting plate. TWO NUTS would be very cool. My guitars are works of art, and attention to these details is important to me. If you don't care, that's fine. The jack will work on a Strat... like I said, you'll just have a longer "snout" of threads standing out from the mounting plate. Excellent product overall, worth the extra money to me. Very secure, very tight. Love them.

I had problems with the jack in a couple of my strats. So I bought these and had them installed, and wow, what a huge difference. No more buzz, just a nice fit and no noise. I will be buying more of these. Thanks, StewMac.

Well built, I love the redundancy of dual connections. I will buy more, and don't forget one of these for your amp too!
