Gotoh In-Tune Compensated Saddles For Tele

About This Item

They look original, but they play in tune!
The problem with vintage Tele® saddles is that they weren't designed for accurate intonation. These Gotoh replacements provide precise tuning while keeping the vintage look.

Built-in compensation
Unique grooves molded into these saddles move each string's point of contact for more exact intonation than traditional barrel saddles.

Choose brass for traditional Tele twang or titanium for rich harmonic overtones and long sustain.

Gotoh's In-Tune saddles fit any vintage-style Tele bridge. Each saddle is reversible and can be used in any position.

Diameter: 0.310" (7.87mm)
String Spread: 2-1/8" (53.98mm)

Set of 3 includes steel intonation screws and springs.

Pretty Good Intonation

By

Installed on a Fender Custom Shop '52 Tele. These saddles do a pretty good job of making intonation more accurate, though probably not as good as a six-saddle solution would be, which I'm still thinking I may resort to in the end. For now I'm tolerating the slight compromise. I don't have any experience with alternatives, but the Gotohs seem to be well designed and constructed, and they look good. They don't come with instructions, so you have to look up the zig-zag wave pattern the saddles need to conform to, if you don't know about it, to get it right. I had to reverse one of the saddles on the bolt, so they weren't shipped ready to install exactly (which is weird). I also bought some radius guides to get the saddle radius to match the fingerboard, which I believe helped. Anyway, at this relatively low price, I'd say they're worth a try.

Best Tele Saddles

This is the second set of Gotoh In-Tunes I’ve purchased, and I couldn’t be happier. The first set are brass on an Ash body, this new set are titanium and went on a Mahogany Thinline style guitar (semi-hollow). In both cases, they “woke the guitar up” with more ping, punch, sustain, clarity, and a bell-like quality. If you want old-school thump, stay with the original slug-style saddles... But if you want a marked improvement in both tone and intonation, go with these.

Perfect

Bought for Fender Original 60's Telecaster. These fit perfectly and keep the strings from moving on the saddles and keep them in perfect alignment. Exactly what I expected, no buyers remorse here.

Highly Recommended

My only complaint is that I had to do a little Googling to be sure about the proper configuration of which barrel to use for which string pair. They are not all the same as in the photo and it is important to get that right. The end result, though is great! My Tele is a partscaster I put together and I went with the traditional brass barrels. I knew the intonation was not perfect, but I figured that's part of the old-school vibe. Nope! My guitar now plays in tune and that is a very good thing.

I was able to get my Squier CV Telecaster intonated properly with these brass barrel saddles. They sound great too.

Got these brass compensated saddles for my top loader telecaster as I was not happy with the intonation of my previous saddles. These provide excellent intonation while still maintaining that classic brass saddle look and tone.

Bought these to install on a Vintera Tele. Despite the fact that they came with no instructions, the install was easy and I had the intonation set in no time!
Great saddles!

Love these saddles

I have tried numerous solutions for intonation on Telecaster guitars. I have always preferred the tone of vintage tele bridges with 3 brass saddles; however, the old school straight saddles were difficult to get the right setting. I had to average out the adjustment and as a result the tuning was close, but not perfect. Then came the tilted saddles...good, but they have a tendency to cause the strings to drift, especially with tighter string radii. The only solution to the problem would be to cut string slots into the saddle. To Gotoh In-Tune saddles are straight and eliminated the need for any modifications. Love them!

Look and work great!

Put them on my Squier Offset Tele and they fit perfectly for the Squier spacing, solve the inherent Tele intonation issue, and look great (brass coloured).

A couple notes: They relic quickly. Like really quickly (a week?). I think it looks good but if you want your saddles to remain polished and pristine these ain't it. You'd probably want something plated instead (my previous brass chrome-plated saddles are still chromed). The place where I lay my hand on the saddles has dulled while the inaccessible parts are still shiny.

Also, the grub screws on the high and low E are a bit long, but I think this will always be the case unless they're all shorter, but then they could be too short in the middle. They're not quite long enough to dig into my hand and be noticeable, but it's something to be aware of. You can always file the screws down.
