StewMac Guitar Bench Pad

About This Item

Grit-free work surface.
A quick brush or shake sweeps away filings and solder bits that cause scratches. The supple, dense polyisoprene is non-reactive and safe for guitar finishes.

It's tough enough to survive years of abuse. The non-slip surface won't slide around as you work.

"We tried every kind of material, looking for the perfect bench mat. We finally found it!"
—Erick Coleman, guitar repairman and StewMac tech advisor

Our Bench Pad is twice as thick as other mats, so your guitars are much better protected. Even the color was chosen for guitar work: unlike black surfaces, tiny parts and wood shavings show up clearly on this pad, so you know it’s time to sweep up!

Tip: Cut the mat into small grip pads for drill press tables or for use under sharpening stones. Great for holding vintage necks in a vise, too.

18" x 24" x 3/16" (457mm x 610mm x 4.76mm)

SAVE when you buy the Guitar Bench Pad with these neck supports:

StewMac Deadblow Neck Rest: a shock-absorbing support that conforms to fit any instrument on your bench. It solidly absorbs hammer blows during fretwork.

Rock-n-Roller Neck Rests: Set of 2 tilting, self-leveling contoured wooden neck cradles to fit any guitar or bass.

Deluxe Rock-n-Roller Neck Rest: Set of 2 solid hardwood cradles with soft cork for finish protection. This Deluxe version adds extra support cauls and the ability to clamp to your workbench.

This is a great pad. Great protection, properly sized, and the texture keeps your work from slipping.

Great!

Soft, flexible and a good size. I had a problem with other types of mats sticking to the clear coat on my bench but this pad does not. I think it would be nice to have various measurement guides and other useful info on the pad, like both standard and metric on the same side. Overall very happy!

Great for the shop!

I bought this for my work bench and I am so glad I did. It is a quality product that will help me preserve the finish as I work on different guitar projects. I am very happy with all my StewMac purchases.

Super useful, better than the old one

For many years I used an earlier Stew Mac version of this--the black foam one that rolled up into a plastic storage tube with the neck rest being integrated into the cap. It always took a long time for the mat to lie flat after it had been in the tube for any period of time, and the tube was slightly too small so unless you wrapped the mat super tight, it wouldn't fit.

This new mat sits flat right away--it's more like a yoga/exercise mat, and the roller neck support are a great idea which easily accommodates a wide variety of body depths and neck angle combinations. Everything doesn't pack into a tube, but you can always wrap the mat and stick in your bag, and the neck rests don't need any coddling.

Awesome Bench Pad!

I’ve always used make shift pads for repairs; towels, pillows ect. This is just what I needed. Roll it up in a drawer after you’re done! Not sure why I waited so long!

The second go-round and still great

This is my second bench pad and I love it. Unfortunately a mouse decided he/she liked my old one as well as I did and left it like Swiss cheese. Now I'm using the pieces for clamping and things. Well worth the price. I used to use a thick piece of felt. This pad works better.
