StewMac Fret Seater
Designed for seating frets over the body where other tools can't reach!
A new fret seating tool designed for seating frets over the body. For obvious reasons more shops are pressing in their frets these days. Frets that are pressed in along their length seat faster, easier, and more accurately than those installed with multiple hammer taps.
This however can pose a problem when fretting over the body. Most handheld models can't reach the upper frets, and many arbor presses don't have a deep enough throat.
The Fret Seater gives you an all-access pass to use your fret press inserts where they normally wouldn't reach. The steel anvil distributes energy from the hammer blows more evenly to the press insert across the surface of the fret.
"This tool worked itself into my regular fretting routine right away. Frets seat perfectly with less hammer blows, while keeping the fret ends down. I use the original Jaws Fret Press to install frets up the neck to the heel, then transition to the Fret Seater over the body. A must have tool!" — Erick Coleman
This great tool idea was brought to us by guitar repair wizard Elliot John Conry of EJC Guitars.
