Getting six of these ferrules to go in at right angles to the body isn't an easy job if you're trying to use a hammer. It fits the flange mount ferrules like you see here, as well as flush mount ferrules, and it's double-ended. If you look on this end, it's got a different size pin and a slight chamfer that fits these little top mount string ferrules [on-screen text reads: String-thru Top Ferrules at StewMac], which are very common today. Each end of the tool has an index pin that keeps the ferrule centered and square to the work as you press it in. It's a great tool. It's a ferrule tool.
