Dan Erlewine: Here's the TJ Thompson Brace Gluing Cauls. There are two widths, a narrow and a wide, and they ramp towards the center like a scallop brace, and they apply a lot of pressure evenly over the brace, and usually, one of these will pop right onto the given brace, and hold itself right there while you go off and get your clamps.

And the nice thing about these, besides the even pressure they apply, is that they really protect the brace, and there's not a chance of getting a dimple or a crunch mark on it.
