Blend Pot Wiring
An explanation of various wiring options with a blend pot.
A blend pot can be wired into a guitar in several different ways. Because of this, we can only cover some basic wirings that could be further developed for the particular needs of your set-up. Below is a basic diagram showing how the pot would be wired. We've also included a couple of samples so you begin to see some of the wiring options. This diagram uses the blend pot as a way to "pan" from one source or pickup, to another. The output of the blend control is then fed into a master volume and tone control. Here's a "stereo" set-up that controls two sources, but they don't interact or blend with one another. This last diagram demonstrates using a mini-toggle or push/pull pot with the blend pot to switch between stereo and mono outputs. In the "mono" mode, the "ring" connector has no function, so a stereo or mono plug could be used.
