LMI Binding Bit Router Bearings
Guitar industry supplier Luthier's Mercantile International (LMI) closed in 2024, but their beloved tools live on at StewMac. These are replacement bearings for their binding router bit. We've bought out their entire stock to keep your tools going.
These bearings are for the LMI Binding Router Bit only.
Please note: StewMac and LMI brand binding tools are not cross compatible with each other.
Tip: Bearings are sized for cutting depth of the binding ledge. To make sure your bindings fit, remember to allow for swelling and eventual shrinking of wood fibers from gluing, as well as for the thickness of the glue itself.
Glued plastic binding will swell considerably as it absorbs the glue solvents. Wood bindings glued with wood glues that contain water will swell also. To minimize final scraping and sanding, we recommend installing a short length of binding on routed scrap wood first, to test the fit.
