StewMac Magnetic Mirror Set

Easy to align from outside the guitar!
Magnets let you position the mirror quickly and easily where you need it.

Repairman Gene Imbody suggested this versatile inspection mirror, an ingenious use of our guitar repair magnets. Powerful interior and exterior magnets let you position the mirror quickly and easily where you need it. Thumbscrew-locking ball joints provide a completely flexible viewing angle, too. It’s a pro quality tool, made of sturdy brass and steel.

    StewMac Magnetic Mirror Set includes
  • Mirror with articulating arm with handle
  • Two 1" magnets
  • Extra magnet handle

Our magnets are custom made with a center mounting hole that's countersunk on both sides, handy for attaching clamping cauls and our specially made magnet handles. Nickel-plated magnets are 1/8" (3.18mm) thick and come in two sizes: 1/2" (12.70mm) and 1" (25.40mm) diameter.

Magnet Handles make picking up, positioning and separating these powerful magnets a whole lot easier. Based on an idea by Al Rorick in our R&D shop, they're made of knurled brass, 1-3/16" long, with attachment screw. Each handle holds one or two magnets, as needed.

Mirror is 1-5/8" x 2-1/2" (41.28mm x 63.50mm), attached to an articulating arm with brass handle to fit our magnets.

Tech Tip: Use a thin pad of felt or leather under the exterior magnet to protect delicate finishes.

Warning: Keep magnets away from pickups and electronics. These are seriously strong magnets, made of rare earth neodymium boride. The Guinness Book of Records lists this as the world's most magnetic substance, ten times stronger than the ceramic magnets used in modern loudspeakers. These magnets can degauss, magnetize or repolarize any ferrous or magnetic material, including guitar pickups! Keep them away from magnetic storage media such as computer discs, audio and videotapes, as well as pacemakers, computers, CRTs, TVs and watches.

KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. If magnets are swallowed, they can attach to each other and cause internal injury.
