New frets won't seat correctly until the old fret slots are clean! These unique tools are needed to loosen and remove packed wood dust and old glue, and deepen shallow fret slots.
Complete Set of 3 tools includes:
- Refret Saw has two slim .023"-thick blades—one cuts on the pull stroke, the other on the push. Also sold separately (additional saw widths are available).
- Fret Slot Cleaning Tool has a thin, hooked, square-edged chisel that's ideal for getting into the corners of the slots on bound fretboards and pries up dried glue. Also sold separately (additional chisel blades are available).
- Fret Slot Depth Gauge will help you make sure your fretwire will fit the slot! Simply hold the flat edge against the fret tang, note the height of the tang against the reference lines, fit the appropriate curved edge into the slot, and compare the lines again. Also sold separately
