Zipper Backstrip

The distinctive "zipper" pattern wood marquetry strip, as used on the back center seam of styles 28 and 21 Martin guitars before World War II.

This handsome backstrip is laminated with black fiber and natural unstained "white" wood. We make these thicker so that they fit perfectly between bookmatched back halves. It's easy to trim them flush for a seamless look.

Approximate dimensions:
0.250" wide x 0.157" thick x 23" long (6.35mm x 4mm x 584mm)

TIP: Dimensions are approximate. For proper fit, the wood backstrip should be measured directly before joining the back halves on your instrument.
