Although my initial order was shorted these parts, the customer service team was very quick to rectify the situation with very little hassle. Now installed and working, very happy with the product.

Received order only to find 2 pots were missing. Contacted customer service and they promptly sent missing pots. Components seem to be very good quality and allowed me to revive my old friend. Sounding good as ever!

My SG was stock (cost about $1K and made in Mex) -- the pickups were 490R humbuckers (uncovered), and all electrical components were mounted on a circuit board. Because the pots were a bit stiff to turn and there always seemed to be a constant hum whether or ran clean or with some dirt, I decided to try this kit as well as change out my pickups to something I liked better (i.e. covered humbuckers made by a different vendor).

If you know how to solder and read a schematic, building the kit harness is pretty easy. If you don't, you might want to consider the the preassembled kit. I also bought the SG jig StewMac sells ($5) so I could assemble the harness outside of my guitar and drop it it when I'd completed it, and then solder the connections for the new pickups. I also went with StewMac's mod that allowed me to maintain independent volume and tone controls when running both pickups at the same time. Finally, because the pots in this kit are CTS pots, you'll need to buy new knobs for them if you don't have CTS sized knobs already.

The end result: No complaints! This kit was well worth the price. The components are good quality, the pots are easy to turn and don't feel "cheap" like the stock ones did, and the changes I made pretty much took care of that annoying hum.

Plus, it was just a fun project to do!

My SG was a non-high end (about $1000) made in Mexico model and everything on it was stock (490R humbucker pickups and all electronic components were mounted on a pre-fab circuit board). I decided to try this kit because 1) The guitar pots were a bit stiff to turn, and 2) No matter if I ran clean or dirty, I'd always hear this hum that I could only get rid of if I ran the signal through a noise gate. Also, with the stock pickups, the tone I'd get was a bit bright I I decided to also replace them with Seymour-Duncan Pearly Gates.

Disclaimer: I'm experienced as soldering and reading schematics. If you're not, you might want to consider getting the preassembled harness for your guitar mode. If you are, I recommend you also purchase the wiring jig for your model (cost about $5.00). Having it allows you to assemble everything outside of the guitar, and when finished, you just drop the completed harness into place, solder the pickup connections and you're good to go. Note: This kit uses CTS sized pots so if you don't have the knobs for them already, you'll need to buy them either from StewMac or via Amazon. I also went with StewMac's mod to have two independent volume controls when running both pickups together.

End Result: It took me about 4 hours to complete this project. Once I'd finished the harness and dropped it into place, I wired up the stock pickups (i.e. 490Rs); the hum I'd previously heard was almost completely gone, and when I wired up the new pickups it I could not hear it at all and the tone I got was just what I wanted.

So, for me, this kit was money well spent and I think my next project will be one of their guitar kits.

A must for a decent Kit

This was one of the best upgrades I did. The stock wiring that comes with the 335 kit would almost be impossible to install without something coming loose. The high quality switch and pots are great but the most important item was the high quality wire. The pushback and the other wire it came with was leaps and bounds better than the stock wiring.

Great replacement kit, happy with results!

My SG always had some problematic issues with the electronics. Scratchy pots and then most recently the signal would completely die in the rhythm position. Rather than isolate the issue by testing every component I settled on the premium kit which had everything I needed and was nearly a 1-to-1 replacement. I ended up not using the nuts only because the originals are semi-gold colored hardware. Happy with the results, signal is strong, no scratchy pots. Really worth your while if you’re willing to piece everything together which is fun and a learning experience.

great replacement parts at a good price

I just installed these parts on my 2015 Gibson SG special, which had the printed circuit board. For some reason one volume pot went bad and there is no easy fix on this PCB, so out it went. The parts are all high quality and everything went as planned (used Gibson's 50s wiring scheme). That said I did notice 3 of the 4 pots measured 500-512 K while the 4th measured 480k. I was a bit surprised by this but used it anyway and cannot tell the difference.
