Long switch not a fit for my Gibson

2019 Gibson Tribute. I have the push pull pots. The wiring diagram has you putting the push pulls in the tone pots. Tried to find info on the push pulls. Hard to find. If your looking at the pot in front of you, the 3 lugs facing you and the 2 ears on top, the top lug on the right is your ground. The left is a "common" connection as far as I can explain. left lug on bottom is your hot for the pick up. Middle is your out to your switch. 3 lug should be grounded to the right ear. I still dont know if that ear is actually grounded, so I grounded mine with wire to the outer body. Depending on which style of wiring you do, your capacitor you need to look up which way you need to solder. The switch was way too long, had to get a short one. I also ordered more grounded wire. They give you just enough. If you split the one wire in three even lengths, it will be too short for the ground wire. Ask me how I know. Lol.

Couldn't use the ling switchcraft switch. So I ordered the shirt version for my Burny RLC 60. Definitely comes with enough wire. I didnt use it all as I kept most of the original wire. But man that braided shielded wire looks like it will stand up to anything. Hope i can use it in other guitar mods. I did have to squeeze the pot shafts a little to fit my fine spline knobs. I was scared that i might crack them if i just pushed them on. Great quality set that for sure. I'm not sure if the kit comes with a short shaft version in gold. I ordered it anyway. Every feels great and no more grit on my tone pots.

This is one upgrade you should think about for either a kit guitar or refurbishing one. If you don’t have experience, do some research on proper technique and how you want it to work. Some trial and error on my part but worked out well.

They sound great, feel great, and the flux on the pots makes it a bit easier to solder.

The only issue that I had was that the LP kit comes with a wiring diagram. The pots come with a diagram. The pickups I bought (Seymour Duncan blues 59) came with a diagram. And each of them had several variants.

Technically all were wrong.

I had to solder 3 times to make it work. The "alternate wiring" diagram that is supposed to make each volume and tone independent didnt work.

I ended up using the diagram that came with the pickups that had the traditional wiring diagram and then made a few small changes and it worked, but the volumes are not independent.... like "traditional".

But I can live with that.

Also I ended up using part of the wire that came from the LP kit in conjunction with the braided wire kit because I couldnt figure out how to have enough wire to wire it. I'm sure it's there but.... I dont know... if I had another 2 feet or wire that would have been preferable.

None of the instructions were abundantly clear.

It took several days, YouTube videos, and trial and error to get it to work, but once it did, it sounded amazing.
