We've found a small stash of beautiful exotic woods that are perfect for ukuleles. African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon) makes a uke that has an extremely exotic look and will sound deeply rich and bright.
African Blackwood is a member of the rosewood family with color variations of the deepest blacks and purples with striking honey-colored sapwood. This wood pairs wonderfully with nearly any combination of binding and other appointments.
Tonally, African Blackwood really shines. This species produces a warm sonic profile, rich with overtones and strong fundamentals.
