Golden Age Roller Bridge

About This Item

The only roller bridge that matches the 12" radius of the Nashville Tune-O-Matic. Low-friction brass roller saddles let the strings move freely and return to accurate pitch.

We designed this bridge to work with Bigsby vibratos, in place of the Nashville Tune-o-matic. This is the only roller bridge that matches the 12" radius of the Nashville, so you maintain the string action you're used to. We gave it a low profile to keep the strings clear of the bridge body too, eliminating a frequent source of vibrato problems.

Thumbwheel height-adjustment studs and knurled bushings are included.

About bridge & tailpiece measurements

Bridge and Tailpiece reference image

String spread is the distance between the centers of the outer strings on a bridge or tailpiece.

Saddle radius determines the arc formed by all the individual saddle heights, and is similar to the measurement of a fretboard.

Stud/post spacing is the distance between the centers of the mounting posts of a bridge or 'stop' tailpiece.

Finally found a fit

By

I bought a bigsby/vibramate kit on reverb and the included roller bridge was not a fit for the 2019 Gibson SG Tribute I was outfitting. We tried two or three different bridges and none fit. I finally tried this bridge from stew Mac and found success!

Excellent with a Bigsby

The guitars I make generally get a floating wood bridge because I like the sound. This one with a Bigsby B5, however, wanted something a little different - and it needed to be low profile because of the low neck angle. The Golden Age roller bridge fitted the bill perfectly - looks great, sounds great, reasonably priced (even with UK import duty added), easy to fit, and helps the tuning stability with a vibrato - can't fault it really (except that you do need to slacken the strings a bit to raise the height as other reviewers have pointed out), I'll certainly use one again (this is my own personal guitar, but I'll happily recommend it to customers). If only it came in a 14" radius version as well, as you can't really alter the radius with rollers like you can by deepening the slots on a regular TOM...

1965 Teisco

Have a beautiful condition 65 Teisco hollow body that played like $%!+. Intonation was horribly out with no way to adjust anything. A few measurements showed I'd be able to make this fit with minimal modifications to the guitar. 100x better.

Excellent - rollers help keep Wilson Bros VM-110 whammy in tune

I purchase the black version of this roller bridge for installation on a Wilson Bros VM-110 guitar with a Jazzmaster-type whammy setup. It was a perfect replacement. The rollers are a bit different than those that came on the stock bridge, they seat better and won't fly off as easy if a string slips out of the bridge piece. Highly recommended.

Great Roller Bridge

I replaced a Schaller roller bridge on a Jazzmaster (no buzz stop) with this bridge and it works perfectly. I like the Schaller too, I bought it for this guitar because I have it on another and it worked well, but the problem for the Jazzmaster with such a shallow break angle is that the saddles in the Schaller are too shallow and the strings would slip out of the saddle with full bends on the E and B past the 10th or 12th frets. This Golden Age bridge has deeper saddles with steeper edges that hold the strings in place much better. This is a great bridge.

Great improvement

I installed this on a customers Gretch Tennessee Rose that has a Bigsby on it. It had tuning issues as a result of the Bigsby and regular style saddles. The roller saddles solved that issue and looks great as well.

Perfect fit!

I bought this Golden Age Roller Bridge in chrome for my 1978 Gibson (Norlin era) Les Paul to work with a Duesenberg Tremolo at the stopbar spot. I took off the old Nashville bridge, and this Golden Age roller bridge went right on with no argument. There's plenty of height adjustment, and saddle intonation range. There are no tuning problems with the tremolo, and the rollers are smooth. The saddles are held in place nicely with none of the problems others have noted. I like a super low action, and this bridge allows it, without "favoring" some strings over others. The match to my fret board radius is perfect. I couldn't be happier!
