The Mastertone-style 20-hole flathead design favored by bluegrass players since the 1940s.
Machined from cast bronze alloy to pre-war dimensions, it gives a deep crisp powerful tone when the instrument is played at lower frets, with great clarity at higher positions. 11" diameter, nickel-plated.A high crown or medium crown banjo head is usually required for this tone ring.
For optimum fit, measure the tone ring with a dial caliper before lathe-turning your wood rim.
