Good tubes

I haven't bought a tube in a Long Time ?? and was looking at Google for info, when I got a reminder about Stew-Mac. Their explanation of features of the particular tube type that I need was Spot On. The "HG+" version of the 12AX7ACZ was the Correct version for my Genz-Benz Shuttle 12.0.preamp. I was replacing a broken "HG" Red tube. The tone is nice and warm and thick.

Taste and tone are, as most of us know, as subjective as can be. So FWIW I am super pleased with this tube in V4 off my DRRI. I use a Tung Sol in V2 which has a more comolex.texture than the JJ, but with the JJ in the next gain stage (V4) the combination is killer. The JJ 12ax7 HG takes the V2 tone from the TS and just injects it with lively attitude that hits hard and leaves a mark. Very pleased. I wouldn't use teo of them together and thought it lacked complexity and texture in V2 but it's like a shot of the good s@&! in V4 of my drri. Hope that helps and wish I had experience with it in other amps or applications relevant to your decision making, but rock on yall. R. Kuby

I needed to replace the noisy original 12AX7A in a Fender SF Champ. Plugged this in and the amp was quiet as a church. Great sale price and fast shipping.

Received it very fast and it sounds great in my 1955 Fender Delux Tweed.

I was pricing preamp tubes from online to guitar center; i totally forgot about Stewmac until i researched more. I came out on top more so than i thought i would; that was the best $20 I ever saved and now my very 1st tube amp is serving even better than it ever has...thanks Stewmac!

It's been years since my 60W Carvin been out of commission but now I'm so relieved since i received these JJ preamp tubes...thanks to Stewmac, me and my 'valentine' are back in stride again!
