Directions for using ColorTone Polishing Compounds and Swirl Remover.

ColorTone Polishing Compounds remove fine sanding scratches from finish topcoats and plastic surfaces. Finishes can be hand-buffed with a soft cotton cloth, but for best results, machine buff with a foam rotary polishing pad.

Polishing Compound Directions

Use a separate pad for each grade of compound. Apply the compound to the pad, not directly on the finish. Let buffed finishes cool before removing buffing residue with a soft clean rag. Hand-polishing should be used for hard-to-reach areas. If final sanding paper is 1200-grit, begin with Medium. Fine is optional, and follows Medium for a super-high gloss. Wear eye protection and a respirator mask when using a rotary polisher.

Swirl Remover is for use with a 1500 to 2500 rpm buffer to remove swirl marks or extremely fine sanding scratches on fresh finishes. It can also be used by hand for a high lustre on new or aged finishes.

Swirl Remover Directions

Shake well before use. Do not apply in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces. Apply a small amount of Swirl Remover to the surface. Use the pad to spread the polish over a broad area before turning on the machine. Buff the surface to a high gloss using medium pressure, and reduce the pressure as the polish dries. Remove excess polish with a soft damp cloth as soon as possible, or before moving to another part of the instrument. Wear eye protection and a respirator mask when using a rotary polisher.

WARNING: May cause eye or skin irritation. Avoid contact with eye or skin and prolonged breathing of vapors. Keep away from flame or ignition sources. Use of an approved dust mask and eye protection is recommended.

FIRST AID: In case of sustained skin irritation, obtain medical advice. For eye contact, rinse with plenty of water for 10 minutes. In case of ingestion, wash out mouth thoroughly with water. Do not induce vomiting and seek medical advice.
