Figured Maple Back and Side Set for Ukulele
Build an incredible Flamed Maple uke!
We've found a small stash of beautiful exotic woods that are perfect for ukuleles. Flamed Maple (Acer macrophyllum) will make a stunning looking uke with a powerful and bright voice.
Big Leaf Maple can exhibit exceptionally gorgeous figure. Rich, deep, edge-to-edge flame is common. In many ways maple is much like the "lightning" to rosewood's "thunder". Where rosewood offers thick, low-end rumble, maple offers a fast attack with a quick drop off. It's perfect for creating a voice that is clear, uncomplicated and can be heard apart from the rest of the band.
Bookmatched set includes two quartersawn halves and matched sides. When joined, they are large enough for a soprano, concert, or tenor ukulele. Sides are unprofiled (rectangular) and unbent. Kiln-dried.
