Slotted Fingerboard for Fender Guitar

About This Item

25.5" scale • 12" radius • 24 slots + nut slot
Each fingerboard is radiused and extended to include a 1/8" flat-bottomed nut slot, Fender style.

Tip: Saw the fingerboard shorter at the 2nd fret (at the nut end) to install it on a Gibson 22-3/4" short scale guitar.

Our kiln-dried fingerboards have flat undersides, are unfretted (no inlays), and ready for trimming to fit a variety of neck widths.

Approximate dimensions: 2-3/8" x 20-3/8" x 15/64" (60.32mm x 517.53mm x 5.95mm)
Radius: 12" (304.80mm)
Fret slots: 24 slots, 0.023" wide (0.58mm). Ready to accept our fretwire.
Nut slot: 1/8" wide (3.18mm)

Important:
Ebony is usually not uniformly black.
We offer Black Fingerboard Stain, as used by Gibson®, Paul Reed Smith® and other makers for darkening the streaks on ebony fingerboards, bridges and peghead overlays.

A simple radius change to 9.5" and the fret job was a breeze. Good quality hard maple too. I'm glad I decided to buy a slotted fret board this time

Time saver!

Yes I know I could make my own fingerboard but these are always perfect and i'm just lazy.
Now if I could only convince StewMac to make preformed neck blacks without fingertboards i'd be much happier!
Are you listening StewMac? paddle-head, no truss-rod, designed for 22-24 frets, multiple wood flavors? You'd be the only company in the US that sold them!

Work required,  but a nice board

By

I purchased a Pau Ferro fingerboard from Stew Mac for a strat neck rebuild. The board itself was really nice, appeared to be edge grain and was slotted for a 25.5 scale. The finger board needed to be tapered to fit the neck and in doing so the thickness at the edge of the board increases as the taper increases towards the nut, meaning that if you want a uniform thickness and a thinner board the whole thing has to be sanded using a radius sanding block. The radius of the board sent was 12". I had wanted a 9.5 radius but that was not available slotted from Stew Mac. The good news is that I can use a 9.5 radius sanding block on the fingerboard in order to bring it down to an acceptable thickness. This will also require deepening the fret slots after sanding the board. So, in summary, there is quite a bit of work to do to fit the board on the American Standard neck. Buyers should be aware of this when purchasing. The quality of the board itself though is very good.

Stewmac are on top of the game. Excellent service levels. Ample packaging was used to sip the fretboards to me and arrived in perfect condition. I will definitely be doing more business with this site, but have also learnt a lesson, pay the extra for courier. Our local post office could learn a lot about service from you. Thank you!

Very nice fretboard

These are great fretboards. Closest thing to Brazilian I have worked with. Looks and feels fantastic. Given the price of fretboards that are not nearly as nice, these are a solid value.

Granadillo is exceptional - period!

This has became my all time favourite fingerboard material, it is extremely stable, very hard and not brittle. You get a perfect fretwork with this material and it is very resonant.

Good Value

I've purchased Stew Mac fingerboards in the past and they've always been good. I would like to see some nicer grains on the maple but overall I find these a good value. Usually give them a nice light sand with the Stew Mac radius block and a nice high grit sand paper which gives them a nice silky finish.
