Refretted!

I bought these frets for my first refretting job. Although I chose the wrong radius, I made a forming jig to flatten them out a bit. They worked great!

Great frets, no fuss

I haven't plunked down the cash on a fretwire bender, so buying these pre-bent, pre-cut frets works great.

All Good Here!

Frets were normal StewMac Quality, can't go wrong. For a 1974 Yamaha 12 String with the most worn down first four frets I'ver ever seen, barely enough to grab onto, to pull out. not one fret before the twelth that wasn't badly worn. Have no idea how the owner was able to play.

Until finding out he'd shimmed the saddle a couple of times to raise the strings, beyond belief!! Certainly got his money's worth out of the original frets. LOL

Wasn't too surprised when he said " Don't remember it ever playing so well". Who'd have thought a Guitar plays better with frets and action set where it sould be!

First try with this size wire

this wire is a little wider than than the .080 I'm used to. As it turns out it covered a lot of chip out in an old fretboard.

Precut fretwire

I use to be afraid of fretting, these make it so much easier and time saving, my old J50 frets were down to .020” and sounding a little flat I used the wide higher fretwire and I have a 50yr old guitar that plays like new what a difference. For the price and a little labor of love can’t be beat. Good quality and finish.
