Bought for a friend.

My friend loves it. They broke theirs somehow and asked if I knew where they could get a replacement. I had recently did a violin repair and replaced their old bow with one of yours and I knew how happy they where with it that I was fairly confident that these people would be also.

Much better than I thought for a $30 bow!

This is a bow I'd bought for a spare for less than $30 and it plays as well as some much more expensive bows I've tried. I'd recently bought one of the top rated carbon fiber bows and by comparison this one is easier to play in a group by virtue of its weight and stiffness. It is not at all mushy, but is stiff enough for double stops without excessive pressure. I like playing it when I'm jamming because that stiffness lets it hold its own playing with amplified guitars and mandolins. It is fairly heavy, but is balanced more toward the frog. There is a little bounce but not too much. Hair is good, no problems in that direction.

A versatile, hardy bow! A great loaner. Just ordered my third.

Cherry Wood Bow

This is the second bow I have purchased, because i needed a spare. While i don't consider my self
a violin player I have let others who play well use my bow when their's needed re-hair. all agree the bows are well worth the money.

Not the 5-star experience other raters had

By

My first bow arrived in a damaged box, not well-packed and broken. However, StewMac was very responsive and shipped out a new bow the same day with much better packing.

Despite all the 5-star ratings, I have not been happy with this bow. For some reason, it sheds bow hairs faster than my cat. After storing the violin for about 1.5 months (with hairs loosened), I opened the case to find about 6 hairs that had come loose. When I tightened it and began to play, about 10 more came off. Now I'm nearly back to the bald bow that prompted me to get a new bow in the first place. Not happy with that.

Excellent product.

I purchased this bow because the price and quality made it a better choice than having one redone. It is as good (IMHO) as bows costing three times this much.

I am not an accomplished violinist, but I love the bow. My first reaction upon seeing it was--how beautiful!! It has a lovely feel and seems to make much better music than my fiberglass bow. I love playing with it!! Thank you, KH

Well done

The order came quicker than I expected, and was well packaged to prevent damage. The quality of the bows (I bought two) is good. The hair took the resin well, and the sound is good. Well, done, StewMac.
