It's spring again

It may be overkill to give a five star review to a vibrato spring, but it is flawless, inexpensive and was delivered quickly, so all major boxes checked.

just what I needed

A student brought his Squire Starcaster in to me because the bridge was tilting away from the guitar's body. Come to find out there were only two springs in the back holding it down. Got the extra springs I needed and a few extras to have on hand. His bridge sits nice and level now. I love being able to buy the springs individually--as opposed to a five pack from other distributors.

A Strat Fix

By

While changing strings on my Strat the high e string popped without even getting close to being in tune. I was trying new strings with heavier low strings swinging to "normal" high strings. On closer inspection I found the tremolo block actually raised up from the body probably due to the tension required to get the low strings in tune. I ordered the new tension springs and added two of them to the strat. They worked like a tiny miracle holding the block flat with all the strings tuned. The block may have been raised a bit for some time and just didn't pay attention to it, but now with everything where it's supposed to be, the guitar sounds so much greater that even my old ears can tell the difference. These springs did what they're supposed to do and I highly recommend them.

Worked Great for Decking the Tremelo

By

I wanted to deck the tremolo on my American Standard Strat since I don't use the tremolo and wanted to avoid tuning issues altogether. Adding two springs to the original three did the trick and brought the floating bridge flat. Decked in this manner--but not blocked the way some players prefer--I did some before and after recordings and could not discern any difference in tone or timbre between three strings floating and five springs decked. These are not the same black springs that originally came with the guitar, but they worked fine nonetheless. If you decide to get these springs, do yourself a favor and get a tremolo spring installer (also available here) if you don't already have one, as this will make the job safe and easy, sparing your hands and guitar finish.
