Floyd Rose Noiseless Tremolo Springs

About This Item

Using a revolutionary new polymer to eliminate noise, these German-made springs will silence any sounds resulting from spring tension that might be emanating through your pickups, giving your tremolo-equipped guitar a tighter, crisper sound.

Especially at higher volumes, you'll notice the absence of any echo, reverb, or otherwise unintended noise coming from your tremolo springs—ideal for studio recording.

Opt for the higher tension heavy duty springs if you're using heavy gauge strings, if you want to simply use fewer springs in your tremolo cavity, or if you like more resistance from your bridge.

Made in Germany.
Set of three.

Note: Before installing, use a knife or other blade to scrape the coating off of both the claw and block ends of the springs to ensure proper string grounding.

very interesting!

Bought these becuase the Floyd Rose I just installed came with the stock springs which were abit to round on the right angle on the block side and werent seating as well as i'd prefer. They almost felt like they'd slip out at some point. Although I like the reverb you get from springs I thought i'd try these out and see how different it would be and they're definently cool and fit much more secure and i'd recommend them no problem. As noted previously in another review in regards to the coating, I did read somewhere either here or on another site where they do tell you to give a quick scrape to the coating before instalation. Quick delivery from Stewmac as usual!

Black yay, Red nay

Switched out a VSVG bridge in place of a Supervee Bladerunner and decided to do the springs as well, since it had always been seriously noisy.

Bought the red and black springs, intending to try the red out with just two, since I use a Tremel No. Even just two wound up being waaaay to stiff. Even with the claw springs out almost all the way
they still pulled the trem back to the decked position. Bummer. So unless you're using a really heavy gauge I think I'd just go for the blacks first if I had a do over.

But 3 black springs were just about perfect. With 3 black and the screws about a third or so of the way in the bridge easily hit the neutral position. And was stable enough that I've got the Tremel No disengaged at this point. Daddario XL 120+ strings .095-044 so not that light, not that heavy.

Hard to say how much of it was the bridge and how much was the springs. Probably a combination. But they *are* quiet. So especially given the bridge swap it was a worthwhile upgrade.

One thing that's not really made clear, you don't have to scrape every spring to get grounding. If you scrape the cover off just one spring that will make sufficient contact. Save yourself a little install time.

Insulated, cuts off ground

Deadens spring noise as advertised, but one big flaw: the coating insulates the springs and prevents proper grounding. It's a simple fix, just scrape off the coating at the ends and it's good. Not a big issue, but the manufacturer should keep the coating off the tips, or at least make buyers aware of this issue.

Hi Peter,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we genuinely appreciate that. We are going to get in touch with Floyd Rose immediately and pass that on to them. Thank you again for this excellent feedback!

I love these. I use them on my strats as well as the Floyd Rose equipped guitars. Use the red ones and you only need 2.

Drastically Improved Tuning

These springs solved two issues. 1) Improved Tuning 2) Use .010 Gauge Strings. I installed these on an Ibanez RG570 from 2003 and now use 0.10 strings and holds the tuning exceptionally well. I didn't even lock down the nut yet.

The Floyd Rose “Black” noiseless are great!

I really love these springs! I also like the standard springs for certain styles of guitars & music. Clean Fender style with single coils sound great with standard springs but with humbuckers and string sz .9s are great with the Black (Red for size .10 strings), I still can get the aggressive tone from my Friedman BE-100 and Charvel (Alder/Maple) but not the artifacts and weird overtones, also the sustain is still there with great tone. Really happy them, definitely worth the money, from Clean to High-Gain my BKP (Holy Divers calibrated set & Trilogy Suite in the center) sound wonderful.

They really are noiseless

Coated in some space-age polymer (or maybe its ground unicorn antler), these really will quiet your Floyd. (Dive) bombs away!
