Adjustable Wraparound Bridge

About This Item

A modern reproduction of the first combo bridge/tailpiece to feature individually adjustable saddles.

The wraparound design brought accurate intonation to Les Paul Junior®, SG Junior® and similar solidbody guitars, and has been popular since the 1970s.

String spread
2-3/64"
(51.82mm)
Saddle radius
12"
(304.80mm)
Stud spacing
3-1/4"
(82.55mm)
Stud threads
M8 x 1.25mm

Two alignment screws adjust the overall intonation. The height-adjustable mounting studs include knurled bushings. The strings load from the front of the die-cast base, wrap over the back of the bridge, and over the notched saddles. Drill 7/16" (11mm) holes for the bushings.

About bridge & tailpiece measurements

Bridge and Tailpiece reference image

String spread is the distance between the centers of the outer strings on a bridge or tailpiece.

Saddle radius determines the arc formed by all the individual saddle heights, and is similar to the measurement of a fretboard.

Stud/post spacing is the distance between the centers of the mounting posts of a bridge or 'stop' tailpiece.

Tip: Slotting Tune-o-matic style saddles
Nut slotting files work great for metal saddles. Choose your file size as you would when slotting a nut: use the same gauge as the string, or a few thousandths larger. After filing to the desired depth, we suggest polishing the slot with Mitchell's Abrasive Cord to remove file marks and burrs.

Just what I needed to complete the guitar. StewMac went above and beyond to help identify the correct bridge. Thanks StewMac!!!

I do like this adjustable bridge but, it is a little too thick and I can’t get the string action low enough.

Sounds so much better

I had bought this little Gibson LP Jr and I loved the feel of it, but no matter what I did it sounded out of tune. I had a set up done and even thought it was my Kung Fu grip on the frets that was causing the issue. I finally bought this bridge and had the local guitar tech I trust install it and it sounds so much better. It is really night and day. I'm more of a Tele guy so I was disappointed in the way the Gibson was playing. Now I may still have to work on the Kung Fu grip, but this bridge really helped a lot! It looks good as well.

Intonation heaven

I bought an Epiphone mini Les Paul 20 yrs ago on a road trip whim. The wraparound stop tailpiece/ bridge had a compensated raised squiggle for a saddle . No matter how far it was adjusted it could not be properly intonated. So my mini was relegated to life in the closet of my office at work . One day out of the blue I checked Stewmac and they had a completely adjustable wraparound bridge that fit my mini perfectly for a great price. Not only does it have 6 separately adjustable saddle pieces but the mounting slot is much longer than an original wraparound bridge making the entire unit quickly adjustable. My mini sounds so good now that it will surely make appearances at gigs from time to time.
Thanks Stewmac.

Not exactly

Used one of these on an Epiphone Les Paul jr. It was much taller than required and the action is just barely in a useable range with it adjusted as low as it goes.It is also impossible to change one string without loosening or removing them all. At least my intonation is good. I will modify it with a Dremel when I change the strings so individual strings can be changed.I hope..

Perfect fit on gibson firebird zero

This is a fine quality bridge. It is a tad tall.be sure to check string height..I put this on a Gibson firebird zero and the fit is perfect although I have the bridge adjusted all the way flat on the body to get the strings low enough..

Great fit !!

I bought a Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Special a while ago. It's a great guitar for the price but the fixed wrap around bridge doesn't allow you to adjust individual strings - so some strings are not ever in tune across the fretboard. This bridge works great and was a breeze to install - no drilling. I used the original posts and this bridge fit perfectly. The only problem is if you break a string it is very difficult to change it because the wraparound bridge is so close to the back pickup that there is very little room to get under it (but that is the guitar design)
This bridge is great!!!

Essential Upgrade For LP Junior

By

Intonation was lacking on my Epi LP Junior. This item solved the issue. I read another user's review recommending a .5 mm neck shim to correct for the increased height of this particular bridge. As a result of that advice, I achieved good action and intonation with a 1-2 mm clearance before this bridge bottoms out against the guitar body. That's as close to perfect as a $125 guitar deserves to be. The chrome looks great too. It seems like all of these wrap around bridges have a sloppy fit over the posts. As a result the string tension pulls the bridge into a slanted orientation. I'm going to try using e-clips as spacers to correct for this. I would add a fifth star for a bridge with better tolerances in this area. Tone pros posts are the other fix for this, reportedly.
