Gotoh Magnum Lock-Trad 3+3 Tuners

About This Item

Traditional thumbscrew-style locking functionality with Gotoh technology.

Pull the string taught through the tuner hole, and with a twist of the thumbwheel the string is locked into the post. Just a few turns of the tuner knob and you're up to pitch. Since there's just a partial wrap of string around the post, tuning stability is dramatically improved. Locking tuners are excellent for non-locking tremolo guitars, and for players that do heavy string-bending.

Rock Solid string posts eliminate looseness and reduce backlash for improved tuning stability. No more wobbly string posts to cause tuning problems.

The Lubri-Coat process electro-coats the gears with a special polymer layer. This eliminates the need for oil and keeps the lubrication where it’s needed, for the life of the tuner.

No extra drilling required. These are better than the stock Gibson tuning machines. Such a great upgrade.

Great tuners. 18:1 ratio is nice. Much better than factory tuners.

Smooth replacement job!

I bought to replace my worn out Grovers on my '70 Les Paul Standard. I had to ream out the holes a little bit for the posts but, the screws went into the old holes. Great replacement!

Seagull Maritime TunersUpdate

By

I had read many complaints on the Internet about the tuning pegs problems on Seagull guitars. My guitar, 2019 Maritime, had tuning problems from day one, hard turning, very frequent need of tuning and taking too many turns to reach the final tuning, I contacted Seagull customer support and got zero support on getting upgraded tuners. So, I purchased the Gotoh tuners from StewMac.

The Gotoh tuners are smooth and precise. They are a direct replacement for the original Seagull tuners ( made by Ping so I am told). No need for modifications to the headstock because even the retaining screw hole is exactly in the correct location. After pulling the string taunt and locking the string down, the peg rotates only 1/4 to 1/2 turn to reach fully tuned. As long as the temp and humidity remain constant the strings stay in tune.

I used Fender Locking tuners on my Tele American Special and they are so much better than the originals. Used some Grover 301 tuners on my Taylor GS-Mini and they are superior to the originals. I have learned a lesson “purchasing lower costing guitars might require tuner updates”.

Nice tuner. Perfect fit for my Martin. Dropped right in. Even used the same screw holes.

I’ve taken to replacing my tuners with locking tuners on most of my guitars. These Gotohs have been great - well-made, excellent finishing, solid performance.

Can’t go wrong!

Awesome. No slip. Quick install on my Martin, quick string changes.

I put these on my Martin D19 and they fit great. I had to mark and redrill a single screw hole for each tuner. Easier than I thought. Even covered the old holes. Fortunately the thru the head holes were a perfect fit. The whole process took about an hour including putting on new strings. Time well spent. Before string changes took at least 30 min. Now it’s about a minute per string. Plus the strings now stay in tune and I bend a lot. I used to have to retune my G all the time. Now it stays in time. I highly recommend them. Especially in a Martin. See the pics.

Amazing!!!!

Dropped right into a Martin mini acoustic . I swapped the tuner knobs because it looked a bit funny with the full sized being that its a 3\4 guitar. Works flawlessly. Lower pegs put a better angle on the strings over the nut. Lightning fast string changes. Worth every penny. I still don't understand why that in this day in age that all guitars don't come with locking tuners as standard as they are amazing and inexpensive!!!

I put these on my Epiphone Les Paul Custom and they work amazing. Restringing takes way less time and my guitar stays locked in tune. Highly recommend these for any electric guitar.

Work great, look good, easy to install

I got these to replace the non-locking tuners on my Ibanez AFJ91 archtop. The diameter of the Gotoh's barrel is very close to that of originals, so i was able to just drop them in--they fit in the stock holes perfectly. The post is not as long as the originals, so the string holes are closer to the face of the headstock (my headstock is 5/8" thick). So the Gotoh's might have increased the string angle slightly. The gold color is an exact match to that of the originals. The locking mechanism works great, and the tuning is very smooth. Couldn't be happier.
