Classical Guitar Bridge

About This Item

Enhance the appearance of your nylon-string classical guitar with this well-made machined unpolished bridge.

The saddle slot is angled back 6 degrees. This is to help counter act the forward and downward push that the strings apply to saddle at the front edge of the bridge. This helps reduce stresses on front of the bridge and minimizes the chances of cracks forming at the saddle slot.

It's available in Indian Rosewood or Ebony, and the string block is trimmed with handsome mitered black/white maple purfling. Saddle not included, see our saddles here.

Size 7.286" x 1.166" x .357" (185.06mm x 29.62mm x 9.07mm)
String spread 2.360" (59.94mm)
Saddle slot width .116" (2.95mm)

Why make one?

The bridge is excellent quality. It required some light sanding to remove some tooling marks but no big deal. Hardly worth marking one!

Perfection!

Over the years I've tried to find pre-made classical bridges. One company sent me one with plastic wrapping which STUCK to the lacquered bridge. That was years ago and I've NEVER been able to get the plastic off. Another company sent one with unevenly spaced string holes. I had them double check their stock and was told they were ALL like that. This one from Stew Mac is perfect in every detail! I'm getting too old to build much anymore but if I do I know where to go for bridges.

Attractive, nicely fabricated classical bridge. Good for new work. Check your dimensions if used for a replacement as original bridges vary in size.

Excellent quality

I was surprised to see what nice quality this was, with the bottom being slightly radiused already as well. I would definitely buy this again. Note, they do take a little hand touching with fine sandpaper, but only a minute or two.

Pretty Well-made bridge but with one slight problem

This bridge is well-made to the extent that alot of suppliers cannot match. The attention to detail and overall workmanship is outstanding. But the only setback to this bridge is its tieblock. The inlays is made from maple and that when you tie the guitar strings over it, it will cut into the maple. I recommend StewMac to replace it to bone instead.
